包丁作り体験に行きました。
かなり多くの工程を体験出来たので、非常に満足です。

その分、長時間＆体力をかなり消耗するため、前後の日程の組み方や体調管理には万全を期したほうが良いでしょう。
また、現地集合の場合は場所が少しわかりにくいので、事前確認と余裕を持った行程が必要になります。

体験自体はとても楽しいのでオススメです。

If you have heard about the legendary craftsmanship of Japanese sword makers and you want to see how it's done, this is the experience for you. Although we made a kozuka and not a katana, the overall steps are the same. As an English speaker, I spent most of my time with Master Masaya's apprentice, Robert Guest. Robert is about 6 months away from testing to become a master bladesmith so he is also quite accomplished and incredibly knowledgeable. The care that is dedicated to ensuring you have a good experience and end up with a blade you can be proud of is inspiring.

９時からお邪魔して、ホームセンターとかで売られている包丁とは材質そのものが違う玉鋼を、やたら熱くて暑いたたらに入れてしっかり熱を持たせたらデカイ金づちでとんかんとんかん。

これ以上詳しく書くのも野暮ったいので省きますが、興味本位でやってきたど素人にも親切で丁寧な職人さんたちのお陰で素敵な包丁頂きました！

結構時間過ぎるのが早く感じた体験でした！

Great experience Master Yoshida is a great guy and even greater sword smith 10/10 experience appreciate Robert speaks English so he can explain the small details for you. Mr Yoshida is all world artist makes sure every detail is perfect!!

今回、初節句の祝いと自分の趣味を併せて体験させていただきました！言葉の語源は刀鍛冶から来ているものが多い事や由来や奥深さを改めて痛感いたしました。師匠はじめ、弟子の方々の丁寧な説明と和やかな中で体験できました。

We had an awesome time at the knife making experience in master Masaya Yoshidas workshop. One of his apprentices, Robert, a native English speaker, instructed and helped us all the way to the finished product. We love the knife and now use it in our Kitchen on a daily basis. Robert also answered every question we had about the rich history behind the craft of Japanese sword making and we got to observe and chat with the master too. Your knife is made from the same Tamagahane steel as a Katana, so it's a really cool and practical souvenir. Thank you so much for having us! Great memories!

Made a Tanto with Yoshida Masaya shishou and apprentice Robert. Had an amazing time and actually planning on coming back to make full sword. Highly recommend the experience to all.

Our family had the honor of spending a day with Master Katana Craftsman, Mr. Yoshida. Under his guidance, we delved into the intricate world of sword making, learning patience, precision, and the rich history of Japanese craftsmanship. Our children actively participated in every stage of the process, from forging "Tamahagane" into steel to polishing it into a beautiful blade, creating not just a work of art but also cherished family memories. Our heartfelt thanks for the hospitality and the remarkable experience.

Hands on forging and hammering a lump of metal into the shape of a knife. Great fun. Seeing a little of what it would take to be a master swordsmith and the culture behind it.o
